Excellent In Depth Catholic Theology
This is serious stuff and an excellent in-depth overview of Catholic teaching. This is volume 2 of a 2 volume set (the first Volume does not appear to be in the archive yet at least at this writing). The volumes were published prior to Vatican II so one must read them in that light but if anything it just shows you how the fundamental teachings of the Church have remained the same. It is written at a high level so the reading is challenging. But if you want more than just the standard watered down theology, are beyond the more popular basic Catholic apologetics and catechisms, and want to dig deep into basic Catholic theology, this is it. The essays are sophisticated and concise and the topics covered are comprehensive. I was given both volumes by my father who had won them in his Catholic college as an academic award. After growing up in the 70's and 80's attending Catholic school all the way through College I never got anything like this and the books held me in rapt attention. They are gems to be kept and treasured. I am so glad to see Volume II on line - thank you archive.org! Please post the first Volume!
